Sprocket Rocket Camera
Sprocket Rocket and 30 Year Old Film
These photos were taken using some iso 200 film that had expired back in 1992, and a Sprocket Rocket camera. This camera has a fixed shutter speed of 100th second, and offers just two choices of aperture, either f10 or f16. Unused film tends to lose a stop of sensitivity with every decade of age if its not stored properly, so although it was originally rated at iso 200, its real life speed was probably nearer iso 25, meaning that even though I shot these photos under bright Mediterranean sun using the cameras widest aperture, they are all underexposed. The colour shifts are also due to the age of the film, but I think the effect is pretty cool!
